Catching Up Some

Well, I'm settling into the new year and I have to say, blogging is hardwork. I really never know what to say, but I feel like I should check in regularly. It makes me really admire those folks who can actually blog every day. I applaud you and am amazed by all of those folks.

Anyhow, as the new calendar year dawns, I keep thinking about what I want to accomplish. The first is to get some of my debt paid off. As you have seen from last year's posts, I've bought a car, installed central air conditioning, gotten new kitchen appliances, new kitchen and dining room floor, and a new bed. In addition, I spent some money on a great vacation to San Francisco, some on my initiation and school. All in all, not frivolous by any means, but, nonetheless, expensive. My goal this year is to put a dent in that debt in some way. That means really thinking about how I'm spending and investing money. The other thing I've done for the last two weeks, and am going to continue doing as much as possible is to "take my lunch to work." I spend a lot of money on dining out for lunch. I've been doing great at packing my lunch while I fix my breakfast. It is becoming a ritual of sorts.

The other goal for this year is to continue to listen to Morgan Le Fey. She is calling me. I'm still uncertain about all of that, but one thing is certain, I think I'm going to be working on teaching most of the Reclaiming Core Classes this year. We are getting ready to do an elements class next weekend. We have 15 people signed up. It is a great mix of old and new folks to the local community. I hope we can continue to build on this momentum. Right now, I'm also trying to listen to what she would have me do, and I'm in the process of building an altar for her. One thing that strikes me is that she drinks tea, but I haven't figured out what kind. I can't seem to place it yet. It's certainly not as simple as English breakfast tea. I've got to figure that one out. She's not a coffee drinker. She doesn't overindulge in any sort of alcohol.

In addition to Morgan Le Fey, I get the sense that she is really related to the Baba Yaga. Baba Yaga is one of my ancestral allies and I've done extensive work with her over the years. I love her and fear her. It strikes me that the "hell beads" I've been collecting are very much a sign that she is around.

So all of this leads me to working with dead people. Last night in my dreams, I had a dream of my whole initiation team at my Grandma and Grandad Able's house. The house that I remember them living in the longest. We were going through the house and it was empty. It was sad for me as I was remember stuff in the house. Pieces of furniture, a cookie jar, the quilting room. All of those were in my dream. I remember the smell of the house in my dream. The initiation team and I were sitting up dinner to honor those who were part of this household. But I was sad, because people were gone and the house was empty and we needed to do something to make the house alive. I'm rambling now, but such is the case with mystery. One rambles and feels their way around in what seems to be the dark, but eventually the purpose emerges.

Good luck with your class, debt, and finding the proper tea!
