Pictures of San Francisco Trip

I've added a photo gallery to this website. Take a look over on the right and click on the CA Trip pictures and watch the screen show. The pictures are in alphabetical order, not the order of the stories to tell, but that is OK. I'll be writing some more about my trip in the next few posts.

Headed to San Francisco

Well, I won't be writing much over the next two weeks. I'm headed to San Francisco and will be there from Tuesday through the next Wednesday. I'm really looking forward to it. The first three days, I'm in a meeting/conference for work that is focusing on the Financial Stability Initiative of United Way of America. The final four are in the city and surrounding area. Sunday I'm slated to go see the redwoods with my friend Cypress who is a fabulous outdoor woodswoman. I'm so excited about it. She and some other teachers are doing this fabulous wild mystic training. She and Charles taught at Dreamroads Witchcamp last year with me and they were out tracking in the woods during all hours of the day and night. I'm taking knitting to do and books to read. I haven't read anything nonacademic in a while so I'm excited about that. Some things I know I want to do include: riding the Trolley Car, going to China Town (found a great walking tour), going to the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park, walking the Labyrnths at Grace Cathedral, and spending some time in the Castro.

Some updates

Well, I'm done with preliminary exams, at least for now. I suspect I may have to take some of the questions over again, but I went ahead and packed stuff up last week after the exams and put it in the attic. I looked around the house after the exam and it was a complete war zone. Papers and books were scattered all across the living room and my office space. I have floor space once again in the office.

Speaking of floors. I'm down to the hardwood in the dining room and just trying to make a decision on what to put in. I'm really tempted to put down ceramic tile as I've found some beautiful stuff at Lowe's the thought of doing it myself scares me a little, but I know that others have done it, so I can too.

Of course, I managed to get a nasty head cold. My body is so predictable. I had told my boss that I probably would be sick after the exams, she laughed at me. Until I went into her office on Tuesday morning and said, "I can't stay." She looked at me and said, "No you can't" Ha! I looked bad to her too.
