Washing the insides

Every morning I get up and take a shower. I'm washing my outsides. Unfortunatly, I don't wash the insides as often. Lately, the insides have needed washing. I was watching a home improvement show and the couple who was having their house redone had a dog die. The remodelers/designers put a picture of the dead dog in a special frame and when the new room was unveiled with a picture of the dog on the wall, the young woman started crying. I did too. Over the last couple of weeks, a great woman from witchcamp, who I've had the priviledge of doing magic with, has been in a tragic automobile accident.  Not a broken bone in her body, but traumatic brain injury. As of last week, they have taken the life support off, but still no consciousness. Doctors indicate it is only a matter of time. I've had a couple of cries over that. Then there was this song, that made me cry this morning. This version was touching too. Life is short and we have to keep our insides washed as clean as our outsides.

Interesting stuff about the sacred pipe

Interesting stuff from a website pipe smoking.

According to many Native American prophecies, we are now in the "Age of the Sacred Pipe". These Pipes are appearing around the world to assist us in the times of transition we face, both personally and as a planet. Long ago it has been said that the day would come when the Pipes would be in every part of the world forming a "web" of inter-connecting influence for the benefit of all of creation. We are seeing this come true more and more every day. In this ancient prophecy it is said that the time would come, after seven generations of subjugation by a giant white serpent from across the great eastern waters, when the children from all four directions would come to the Elders of the Native Americans to learn the ways of harmony. In this time the voice of the Native people would rise to be heard again, after a time of silence. This prophecy was to mark the time of the birth of a new world. This is to be the age/world of interdependence and lasting peace. We have seen the beginning of the fulfillment of this prophesy over the last few decades here on Turtle Island North America with the increase of young people of all four colors of humankind finding peace and purpose through walking in our ways. It is through the Pipe that the Great Mystery has made available a way to restore harmony to all things. Pipes play an integral part in ushering in of this age of interdependence of all creation. This is why they are being dispersed throughout the world, their energies and effect interlacing like a giant spider web covering the planet.

The way of the Pipe is not for everyone, but for those who are called into this sacred relationship, there is nothing more powerful in this dimension for accessing the Divine. However, using the Sacred Pipe without knowing its power or purpose is like obtaining a weapon but not understanding what it is capable of, especially if misused. Improper care or use of such a powerful sacred object can be as disastrous as it can be beneficial. Trying to access the medicine of the Pipe without proper understanding can be as dangerous as playing with a loaded gun. Someone usually gets hurt, often a loved one.

Working with the spirits

I was reading my blog and thought I should follow up on some things I've been doing.

First, I have passed my prelim exams. The ones I had to retake because I failed have all been completed. Yeah!

Second, I have found a lovely tea for Morgan Le Fey. We generally have a cup of tea together once a week. Get this, it is from the Republic of Tea and it is called the Tea of Mystery (Lapsang Souchong). There is something about sipping mystery with Morgan Le Fey that sounds right.

Third, I'm trying to learn to smoke this pipe. The Fairy King has challenged me with doing this. I'm no smoker and the good news is I don't have to inhale. Do you know how hard it is to keep a pipe lit? This is the lesson in some ways. How do you sustain the fire? I've also been reading about sacred pipe smoking at the suggestion of my friend Sage. One of the things I've discovered is that there are pipe carriers who play a significant role in native tribes by being blessed with this tribal/priest job. The other thing I've discovered is that Native Americans believe that the smoke creates a connection between the spirits and the humans. Much like in Tibetan Buddhism, where the spirits ride the smoke. What I find interesting is when I puff and realize that the smoke I'm creating allows the spirits to ride into my own breath.

We have started an Iron Pentacle class. This is one of the Reclaiming Core classes. I've been doing a lot of mirror work with this around my name and who I am right now. It is a great journey.

So, that's a quick check in.
